Firefighters First Credit Union is proud to support the brave families of firefighters by offering a $5,000 scholarship to 10 children of firefighters. This scholarship is designed to assist the children of dedicated firefighters in pursuing their educational goals and achieving academic success. We recognize the sacrifices made by these first responders and their families, and through this initiative, we aim to ease the financial burden of higher education. By investing in the future of these students, we honor the commitment and service of firefighters who work tirelessly to keep our communities safe.

If you are interested in applying for the scholarship, please review the Scholarship Guidelines to ensure you meet the eligibility requirements. Then, follow the Application Instructions below to complete and submit your application. We encourage all eligible students to apply and take advantage of this opportunity to support their educational journey.

Deadline for all application submissions is May 16, 2025 at 6:00 PM PT.

Application Instructions

1. Download & Save the PDF application to your computer.
2. Complete the application by typing directly into the PDF.
3. Write your essay in a separate document.
4. Fill out the submission form by uploading the required files: Application, Resume, School Transcript, Essay.
5. Submit your application and receive confirmation.

Timeline

• March 17: Application opens
• May 16: Applications due by 6:00 PM PT
• May 17 – June 16: Applications are reviewed and finalists are contacted
• June 16 - June 18: Deadline for finalists to be contacted
• June 18 – July 3: Finalist interviews conducted
• July 10: Final ten recipients announced
