FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers in Los Angeles County
Open to assist Californians who experienced damage to their primary home, personal property loss or have disaster-caused emergency needs related to the wildfires. At the center, you can get help applying for federal assistance, speak to representatives from state and federal agencies, receive updates on their FEMA application for assistance and learn about the appeals process.

Temporary Housing Assistance
If you need housing due to displacement, there are several options:
- 211 LA: Offers connections to temporary housing and resources.
- Airbnb Wildfire Housing Program: Temporary housing options for affected families.
- Local Hotels: Many hotels, such as those in Anaheim and Big Bear, offer discounted rates for fire evacuees.
Utilities Support
Utility companies often provide relief to those in disaster areas:
- AT&T: Unlimited data and waived fees for affected customers.
- T-Mobile: Free relief supplies, Wi-Fi, charging options and more will be at select stores.
- Verizon: Waived charges for cell, text, and data usage in affected areas.

- Planet Fitness: Free access to showers and locker rooms through the end of January.
- Living Spaces is offering free mattresses for families affected.
Small Business Assistance
For businesses affected by disasters, resources include:

Uber and Lyft are offering free rides to shelters and evacuation sites:

Los Angeles County Property Taxes
Free Two Day Insurance Support Workshops by California Department of Insurance
Free two-day insurance support workshops to help survivors understand their insurance policies and the claims process, while also providing information about available resources for rebuilding and recovery. These workshops are open to all those impacted by the recent wildfires. Call 800-927-4357 to schedule a one-on-one appointment with a Department of Insurance expert.

Fannie Mae
Homeowners and renters should call 855-HERE2HELP (855-437-3243) to access Fannie Mae's disaster recovery counseling operated by Money Management International (MMI).

1 Subject to credit approval. This program provides assistance with low loan rates to our members affected by natural disasters resulting in their principal residence being uninhabitable. Terms range from six (6) to sixty (60) months maximum. Minimum loan amount = $1,500. Maximum loan amount = $25,000. Representative example: A $25,000 loan financed at 0.00% APR for six (6) months would result in six (6) payments of $4,166.67. Rates effective January 1, 2025 and are subject to change.
